On falling out of love with being a graphic designer and falling in love with bikes

Last night I had the privilege of speaking amongst a lineup of graduates and friends of Glasgow School of Art‘s Communication Design department, who were in London to exhibit their 2013 degree show.
This being the course I myself studied from 1999-2003, it was also something of a reunion party, all washed down with plenty of Tenants lager, something which was similarly never in short supply during my student days.
The talks themselves followed the rapid-fire PechaKucha format — 20 slides per person with each slide shown for 20 seconds — which turned out to be a lot of fun.
Above is a recording of my presentation (apologies for the poor audio which was recorded using my phone) in which I look back on my bike-less time in Glasgow, my inspirations for starting CycleLove, and ponder how something as simple as a bicycle can have such a profound and magical effect on people’s lives.
