Designer cycling jerseys which don’t look like somebody vomited logos down their fronts
Style Selection #12 | Compiled by James Greig
Kirschner Santa Catarina
This beautiful jersey from Brazilian brand Kirschner was designed in the UK by design studio Six and will be hitting these shores soon (I'm told).
Cadence Elite Jersey
Cadence are one of my cycle style brands to watch in 2013 and this unusually designed jersey is the reason why.
Ten Speed Hero Club Jersey
Perhaps my favourite cycling brand, Ten Speed Hero hail from the US and pull off a tricky marriage of style and fun across their entire range of kit. All of which means that this colourful number is lodged firmly near the top of my jersey wishlist.
Howies Slipstream Jersey
If minimal appeals, this is the top for you — the first item from Howies' new cycle-specific range of clothing — and in a colour scheme of which Henry Ford would no doubt approve. A figure-hugging fit and a low seam count further enhance this jersey's appeal... on which note I've been reliably informed that a women's version is to follow later in 2013.
Bernard Rides Again Short Sleeve Jersey
If I was going to treat myself to a complete kit, this would be the one. Great colours and a truly unique design — I'm not surprised this limited-edition jersey flies off the shelves whenever it goes on sale.
Rapha Bordeaux–Paris Jersey
Commemorating the 50th anniversary of Tom Simpson’s victory at the 1963 edition of the long-distance race known as the ‘Derby of the Road’, this jersey has a great mix of heritage style and technical features, such as reflective stripes which increase visibility on night-rides.
Coureur du Monde Eddy Polo Shirt
Back pockets? Yawn! Front pockets are where it's at and these new polo shirts from Belgium have the right mix of fun and vintage-inspired style to make you wonder why nobody else thought of it before...
La Vie Claire
The only replica cycling kit I own. In fact I like it so much I've got two of these jerseys, which were inspired by the art of Piet Mondrian and worn by the La Vie Claire team in the 1980s which included Bernard Hinault and Greg LeMond.
Vulpine Alpine Jersey
Merino wool, but not as you know it, thanks to Vulpine's now trademark attention to detail and sharp tailoring. Contrast zips, juicy colour options and women's version (specially cut, not just sized down) make this an even more desirable addition to any rider's wardrobe.
Milltag Classic Blue Hoop Jersey
I'm not sure if I've seen a jersey with a nautical look before, but I have now. Suitable for bike riding land-lubbers everywhere, apart perhaps from anyone suffering from a little middle-aged spread.
