Copenhagen’s Cycling Without Age ride is coming to London on May 14th and you are invited!

I recently spotted an article on Copenhagenize about an event called Cykling Uden Alder (Cycling Without Age) which saw a fleet of Christiania Bike pedicabs treating elderly care home residents to a trip around Copenhagan.
As Ole Kassow, the ride’s organiser, puts it:
Cycling Without Age is about quality of life.
It’s about showing that the city is at it’s loveliest when seen from the cycle track.
It’s about the fact that cyclists are happier.
It’s about the fact that cyclists are healthier, live longer and are less ill.
The good news for Londoners is that Ole is in town in May, and with the support of the Danish Embassy and CycleLove, we are bringing the full Cycling Without Age experience to the capital!
Exact details are still being finalised, but if you would like to take part in the ride on Tuesday 14th May, or know of any cyclists over 65 who would enjoy taking part, please leave a comment below expressing your interest.
We are still in need of pedicabs/rickshaws, and are also keen to connect with old people’s homes close to Hyde Park who might be interested in taking part. Please email me directly if you can help with either of these things. If you’d like to support the ride, or help with marshalling, we’d love you to join us, the more the merrier.
You should also RSVP to the London Cycling Without Age guestlist on Facebook to stay updated.
In the meantime, have a listen to the BBC World Service’s report on the last Cycling Without Age ride in Copenhagen:
