Tom Donhou’s latest build: a Leica-inspired beauty of a track bike

This minimal machine is the latest creation of London-based frame-builder Tom Donhou (the man behind the Experiments in Speed video).

Designed for a photographer, it takes inspiration from the iconic Leica camera, and is designed for fast city riding:

“Built from Reynolds 953, with the top tube and head tube brushed much like on the camera, matt black paint to mimic the textured body of the camera and then highlights in the Leica red… with a parts package including Royce, Thomson and custom bar tape and saddle recovery by Busyman, this is one awesome around town bike.”

With the frame left as bare metal there would have been no margin for error with the brazing, but as you’ll see from the photos below it looks like Tom absolutely nailed it…
