Just like you can never have too many bicycles, you can never have too many cycling-themed happenings. That’s the theory anyway, because if they happen at the same time — as they increasingly do here in London — you have the tricky choice of which one to pedal on down to.

New on the scene this year is Spoke, a free design and illustration event at the CLF Art Cafe in Peckham. As Spoke’s director Rose Riley explains:

“Peckham was the ideal place to host Spoke because over the past couple of years this area has not only become a hot-bed for art and illustration but also we’ve seen so many more people take to the roads on the bikes for commuting and sheer enjoyment. It just seemed the perfect time to combine two things that people in London are incredibly passionate about in one, fun and free event.”

Alongside a long list of artists, the lineup includes hands-on screen printing workshops by Sonsoles, free bicycle checks by Cycle PS and a popup radio shed from the accordingly named SHED Radio.
